OUR PROGRAMS
|
Springwood Boys and Girls Club offers a range of Gymnastic programs for boys and girls, with classes catering from ages 18 months and up for both recreational and competitive gymnasts. Involving your child in gymnastics at an early age can be an extremely rewarding experience. Children are able to experience how their body moves, socialize with other children and enjoy the thrill of learning a new skill.
Our gymnastics programs are all about bringing gymnastics to the local community. Our focus is on the teaching of gymnastic skills, allowing each gymnast to develop to their own potential without the expectations, pressures and expense associated with elite performance. |

General Gymnastics - Recreational Stream
The General Gymnastics Program is based on introducing simple and safe gymnastic activities and skills and is suitable for both boys and girls regardless of their abilities or previous experience in gym.
Kindergym for ages 18 months to 5 years (Pre-school ages)
Classes are delivered through a 50 min session and require a parent or guardian to be on the floor with their child(ren) at all times. The programme incorporates structured group activities, skill technique coaching as well as guided activity time suited to the class age. These activities assist your child’s development of coordination, confidence, creativity and self esteem. Please note: For insurance and OH & S reasons, siblings are not allowed on the floor area or to join in activities unless they are a registered member of the class.

Progression through our Levels Program is based on the Gymnastic Australia's National Development Program. We currently hold classes for those gymnasts training in Levels 1 to 4. Entry into this program is via either the Advance Gymfun or Pre-Levels Classes and is voluntary once particular skills set levels are reached. Gymnasts however, must show a willingness to work hard and compete at Regional and State Competitions.
This program involves learning specific routines and performing these in Club and Regional Competitions. Gymnasts who obtain qualifying marks at Regional Competitions may have the opportunity to represent our region (Metropolitan West) at State Level Competitions. Progression through the various levels is dependent on gymnasts competing at two Regional Competitions and obtaining qualifying marks set for that level.
