OUR PROGRAMS
|
Springwood Boys and Girls Club offers a range of Gymnastic programs for boys and girls, with classes catering from ages 18 months and up for both recreational and competitive gymnasts. Involving your child in gymnastics at an early age can be an extremely rewarding experience. Children are able to experience how their body moves, socialize with other children and enjoy the thrill of learning a new skill.
Our gymnastics programs are all about bringing gymnastics to the local community. Our focus is on the teaching of gymnastic skills, allowing each gymnast to develop to their own potential without the expectations, pressures and expense associated with elite performance. |

Woman's Artistic Gymnastics Program (WAG) Competitive Stream

Progression through our Levels Program is based on the Gymnastic Australia's National Development Program. We currently hold classes for those gymnasts training in Levels 1 to 5. Entry into this program is voluntary once a particular skill level is reached, however, gymnasts must show a willingness to work hard and compete at competitions.
This program involves learning specific routines at each level and performing these routines in Club and Regional Competitions. Gymnasts who obtain qualifying marks at Regional Competitions may have the opportunity to represent our region (Metropolitan West) at State Level Competitions. Progression through the various levels is dependant on the gymnast competing at two Regional Competitions and obtaining qualifying marks set for that level.

Fees are billed separately and include coaching fees, costumes/leotards costs and entry fees into venues. Additional costs may include the purchase of the Club's Display Team Tracksuit and associated expenses not included in the original costing. The Display Team's tracksuit can be worn to Club and Regional Competitions.
Springwood Boys and Girls Club has a distinguished history in performing at various Gymnastic and Community Festivals, such as the Festival of Gymnastics and Aussie Gymfest. Due to the high standards of these displays, our Club has received several invitations from Gymnastics Australia to perform at World Gymnaestrada events, (held every four years), as part of the official Australian World Gymnaestrada Team. In 1999 some of our members performed in a Display Team at Gothenburg, Sweden and in 2007 at Dornbirn, Austria. |
